Description:

What is the most seemingly BORING idea possible for a musical? All right, now let's turn that into the most EXCITING show imaginable. That was the catalyst for this concept many years ago at an improv class in rural Indiana. Phantoms! Witches! Lions! Sure, we can appreciate the spectacle of it all. But maybe Broadway's biggest hero yet is a down-on-his-luck divorcee who crunches numbers and keeps the IRS off your back.

Set in present day Philadelphia, TROUBLE WITH ACCOUNTANTS! is a new musical dramedy about a ragtag group of CPAs who must band together to save their modest firm from a conniving coworker, a buffoonish boss, and a smarmy IRS agent.

Synopsis:

After realizing he is unsuited for a job at Goldman Sachs, miserable 37-year-old accountant Eddie Morgan reluctantly accepts an offer at his former place of employment: a lackluster accounting firm in Philadelphia known as Dull & Bleake CPAs, LLC. Eddie works to put his life back together, that is, until he is pegged to take over the firm. Now, he must sort out a mess of client problems, resolve coworker antics, and deal with new employees like Sam Davis, a fresh out-of-college smart aleck with a knack for causing trouble. But when the mysterious state auditor unexpectedly shows up, the team is forced to put aside their differences and work together to survive a tax season from hell.
